As soon as I saw the title, I knew what the opening drop-in was going to be. I downloaded it and I had to listen to the first 20 seconds right away...I was not dissapointed. I am burning it to CD right now for the ride home. Oddball would have blasted Rip you to Pieces or Take a Trip from the loudspeaker if he had them available. Maybe some Revolution Will Not be Televised during mop-up. That and a shell full of paint, talk about some 1945 shock and awe.

Very cool Podcast! I'm a new listener from SE Michigan. I really love "In My Veins" by Admiral Twin. The Wine and Cheese theme fits me to a T, we have a family vineyard here. And Mayhem is always part of life.

The UKs Indepenpant newspaper gave this show a mention yesterday and I'm hooked. Great sequencing, making tracks that, on their own would sound lame eg. Genesis, sound wonderful. Marvelous stuff, definitely the best thing on the radio along with Bob Dylans show.

Perry,
This IS what radio should be! Nevermind the sorry attempt at "Jack" radio (the format fad of last year)...otherwise known as 9FM in Chicago, THIS IS the real deal. This is the way I DJ my parties at home...
The best one yet!....
Thanks!

Hi from the UK. Your buddy Rob C. gave me a load of downloads earlier this year at a conference in Maui, whilst talking music induced by loadsa Vodka (in my case) in the early hours. He was very enthusiastic.
I've only just gotten round to listening. Needless to say, you have just replaced Planet Rock. DAB radio for sale.
Cheers,

People don't want eclectic. It's a terrible idea.
What with the great choices offered by traditional music radio, based on research by the suits upstairs. No need to touch that dial. Feast on the never ending swill of ubiquity.

Right on, Perry! Stick it to 'em and turn it a little for me! Two decades of destroying FM, and then they want 99c for the same songs that they wouldn't play for you in the first place because (apparently) they weren't popular enough. F--- 'em!
I laughed when Elvis Costello came on. Reminded me of that classic SNL clip.
Was that DJ from Denver? My brother lives out there. I'll have to ask him if he sounds familiar.
Hey, you forgot Around The Dial by the Kinks. Not anti-radio, but a good rockin' song on the topic nonetheless.
Keep doing it to them, buddy. I'm a believer.

Vol. 60 | 04.15.2007
NEW FOR APRIL 15, 2007
I suspect music has started as many fights as religion has started wars.
The catalyst can usually be identified as a single factor: The DJ.
That may be a guy on the radio, a girl spinning in the clubs or just the
fool at your party who has commandeered the sound system in your living
room.
One thing that is fact (because I said so . . .) is that most DJs, in their
pursuit to make EVERYONE happy, play to be non-offensive and offend EVERYONE
in the process.
The Best Radio You Have Never Heard speaks on your behalf.
Hang 'em high . . .
1. Taxman - The Beatles
2. Panic - The Smiths
3. Typical - Mute Math
4. The Mayor Of Simpleton - XTC

Great stuff. "Hang the DJ." One thing comes to mind when hearing that said. The Smiths' fantastic song "Panic". Oh, those were the days.

Hi Perry
thanks for the great tunes. As a busy mom and former Chicagoan, it's streaming a little bit o' my musical past to Corpus Christi and lifts my spirits every time I listen! Will pass it on to the military community down here in Texas! Keep 'em coming! Shannon Thurston Meinhold (sister of Shane!)

NEW FOR APRIL 1, 2007
Well, I ain't no April Fool, but I sure do hope that the fools who have access to "the button" are minding their P's and Q's.
As the title suggests, all it will take is "One False Move" in the serious chess game this planet is engaged in and it's Rock 'em Sock 'em Warheads.
My suggestion : A series of sit downs between the heads of state, a cooler full of cold ones and a blast of the new podcast, "One False Move."

Just listened to this one! Where does "It's Yourself/Los Endos" come from? The "Los Endos" section sounds right off Trick of the Tail. Thanks!
Perry responds:
You'd be right, PJM. It is "Los Endos" from TOTT. Both "It's Yourself" and" Los Endos" are stand alone songs ("It's Yourself a B-Side only track), but obviously from the same "sit down."
I took the liberty of stitching them together . . .

NEW FOR FEBRUARY 1, 2007
Are there "dog days" of winter ?
If so, the unwelcome feeling of the wind off of Lake Michigan and a thermometer reading 15ºF makes for some mighty braying from the hell hounds of winter.
So a little something to warm you up in what is proving to be the antithesis of global warming. If you are lucky enough to be somewhere where the thought of jumping into a pool is more balmy than bone chilling, lift a cold one for those of us in the freezer.
Whichever your climate or location preference, here's hoping your February gets off to a good start.
